ELIMINATING SPIDERS AROUND HOMES AND BUILDINGSbakersfieldpestcontrolspidertypes

Here in Kern County with our hot summers we have many different kinds of spiders. They live in and around many of our buildings. Some, such as garden & cellar spiders, construct webs that help to entrap their prey. Others, including the wolf spider, are free roaming and make no web. Most spiders are harmless and in fact are beneficial because they prey upon insects such as flies and crickets just to name a few. They generally will not attempt to bite people unless held or trapped. Moreover, the most spiders have fangs too small to puncture skin. The black widow and brown recluse are dangerous. Fortunately, both are relatively uncommon, and have markings which can be used to distinguish them from other non-threatening species.
